In business speak Q1 has just finished. Make sure you’ve hit your sales targets you dumb fucks otherwise those shareholders won’t be able to buy their 14th goose-fed yacht. Music had a pretty good month in March - some really strong releases that are all potential AOTY contenders and some fun tracks as well. Harry Styles also released an album - remember that?
What did music be doing in March 2026?
Paul Mescal announces new album
Did you know the upcoming Beatles biopics are all being released on the same fucking day? Four movies in one day is either genius or pure stupidity and I’m unsure which. While we wait for B-Day, Paul McCartney has announced The Boys of Dungeon Lane is due for release on 26th May - lead single ‘Days We Left Behind’ is out now.
Olivia Dean wins big at MOBO
It must feel pretty fuckin good to be Olivia Dean at the moment. After winning big at the BRITs she has taken home three of the biggest titles at this year’s MOBO Awards claiming album, song and female artist of the year trophies. Other headlines from the evening were Jim Legxacy taking home Best Male Act, EsDeeKid missing out on any silverware and Raye taking home Video of the Year.
Model/Actriz surprise release new EP
New York based noise rock/dance punk band Model/Actriz released their second album Pirouette in May last year which brought them much wider attention to their glitchy and industrial approach to punk music. After spending much of last year on the road, they have surprise released the EP Swan Songs and announced a string of tour dates for 2026. Check out lead single Glassman for a taste.
Chat Pile nearly ready to dump another chat pile
I love Chat Pile. I have a hat that says ‘sludge metal’ on it that I found in a hole. The Oklahoma band have two full length albums under their belt along with a collaborative album with Hayden Pedigo from October last year. Work on their next project is officially “in the mixing and mastering phase” as confirmed through their Instagram along with some further shows for the year. I am so fucking excited.
